Sow and Grow Community Gardening Program

Participants in the Sow and Grow program at the Nenagh Community Garden.

Silver Arch Family Resource Center launched its newest community program in Nenagh last Saturday.

Sow and Grow is a six-week gardening program for families of all ages who want to learn about sowing and growing salads, vegetables, herbs and flowers from seeds and plants.

Led by social farmer Albert Nolan, participants got to get their hands dirty by sowing many seeds such as beets, peas, nasturtiums and plants such as cabbage, lettuce and borage.

Using the fantastic facilities of the Nenagh Community Garden, everyone can expect to see their seeds germinate and grow, and eventually plant into the soil they have prepared.

The program is not just about sowing; participants were able to see the different types of insects that can be found in our garden and find out how important they are for the growth of your garden.

There are still a few places left, so you can inquire or reserve your place by calling the Silver Arch Family Resource Center reception on 067-31800. See also for more information.
