Scran Season 6: Food, Community Gardening, History and Future Plans at Mingary Castle

The latest episode of our Scran podcast is now live.

Have you ever looked at the remains of an ancient building or castle and thought to yourself: what would it be like to restore it and open it as a restaurant? Well, that’s exactly what we’re going to talk about in this episode of Scran.

Rosalind recently traveled to Mingary Castle on the west coast of Scotland in the Ardnamurchan Estate where she met Chef Patron Colin Nicolson and his partner, Managing Director and Co-Owner Jessica Thompson, who undertook to make this restaurant with rooms a success despite the obvious. localization challenges.

Rosalind learns how the couple ended up there and what their vision for the castle is.

While touring the community garden and shop, Rosalind also talks to Rachel Middleton who tends the garden and provides the castle and the townspeople with an abundance of fresh fruit, herbs, and vegetables.
